New Marvel vs Capcom 3 Promos

From the fine artists at Udon, comes these two nifty looking pieces of art to promote the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds game. The newer one at the top is from Alvin Lee and Saejin Oh, and the one underneath it is from Joe Ng and Espen Grundetjern. Both are, obviously awesome.

New Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Trailer

Released recently is this newer trailer for next year’s battle of costumed characters. It starts with Dr. Doom and Chun-Li on a burning S.H.I.E.L.D hellicarrier and then alternates (as expected) between cool and kinda strange from then on.

Darth, Spidey and Wolvie

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed centred on Darth Vader’s secret apprentice and was not a bad game, but what tipped it over the edge into mass frustration was the infamous Force gripping a Star Destroyer scene. Hopefully the makers have learned their mistake for the sequel, which is due on October 26. Go here for the just released cinematic from the game, which is a MUST SEE.

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions features 4 alternate universe versions of the Web-slinger, including the one we know and love, the Old-school Noir version, the just announced  and expected 2099 version from the ’90s comics and one more to be unveiled. It’s an interesting approach. The game is released on September 7.

Lastly, a new trailer for Marvel vs Capcom 3 shows some great footage such as Wolverine fighting Ryu and Chris Redfield facing off against Hulk, plus Iron Man, Deadpool and Dante. Fate of Two Worlds is released later in the year.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Trailer

The trailer for the latest pop culture beat-em-up has just been released. It will be released next year on the PS3 and XBOX 360 and features an assortment of superheroes as well characters from Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and more.

Darkstalkers Art Tribute Contest

Surely this will be of interest to the  artistic minded readers out there. Darkstalkers is like Street Fighter, but not as popular, you could say. It’s mired more in fantasy than anything else, but like most of Capcom’s franchises, it has its fans. Udon produced a successful Street Fighter tribute book recently, and now they’re opening up the doors for entries for their Darkstalkers tribute book. The deadline is March 1 and the official skinny is below.

Given the success and fan glee generated by last year’s Street Fighter Tribute book, many of you asked us whether or not we’d do another Tribute book. Finally, we can answer that question.

Talking at length with Capcom and checking the dates, we saw that Capcom’s other popular fighting game franchise was celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2009, and it all fell into place.

So… after much speculation/expectation, we’re very proud to announce Darkstalkers Tribute!

Go here for contest details and a standardized entry form for art sample submissions. Please help us spread the word about this contest by sending the link around and telling all your friends.

Darkstalkers is not as well known as Street Fighter but the fanbase is rabid and the characters are just as distinctive and engaging. Considering that Street Fighter Tribute arrived to rave reviews, we’re very excited to see the artwork we get this time out.

Even if you won a spot in the Street Fighter Tribute book you’ll have to push yourself even harder this time. Expect the competition to be stiff as even more artists from around the world send us their artwork. Go for quality and a distinctive approach. Show us what you can do.
