Superman/Batman Animated Film

Public Enemies TPBSure, Marvel may be kicking DC’s butt in the battle of the cinema, but DC are winning the animated war. Marvel’s animated films (two Ultimate Avengers, Iron Man, Dr. Strange and Hulk Vs) have been disappointing, but DC’s (Superman/Batman, Justice League: The New Frontier, Wonder Woman) have been awesome. This year, after the recently announced Green Lantern: First Flight, the next release will be Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. This is great news indeed. The film will be based on the action packed first 6 issues of DC’s team-up title, by writer Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness. The official synopsis is below. I can’t wait. Go here for a sneak peek at the comic book  inspiration.

United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a
kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty
on the heads of the Man of Steel and his “partner in crime” Batman.
Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of
Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit super help – to
stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover
Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.

  1. Hey Kris!

Sorry I haven’t been around for a bit, but I have to disagree with you as far as Marvel’s Animation films, I liked Ironman and Dr.Strange, and I passed on both Ultimate Avengers animation movies.

But I did enjoy New Frontier, also I don’t know if you caught the Batman, Gotham Knights anime release.

  2. Hey Lew! How are ya mate! BTW, I’m digging your site’s new look! The Hulk Vs DVD hasn’t been released anywhere near me yet, but I wouldn’t mind seeing that. The Ultimates films weren’t great, but they had some cool comic extras.

New Frontier was good, but Gotham Knights was disappointing. I’m looking forward to Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Supes/Bats though. It’s a good time to be a DC fan!

  3. I did not realize that the Wonder Woman Vid was available…think I’ll have to just rent it and see how it is.

I’m looking forward to the GL movie also.

Has ” Watchmen ” arrived down under yet? I enjoyed it when I saw it, but was a bit embarrassed with a certain scene in the movie, as I had my ” daughter ” with me and I had to apologize to her as I did not realize that that type of scene would be in the movie.

As far as the Comicseye site, I’m thinking of calling it a day with that and just moving content back to fanboy@50,rather thajmn having to do more work on a seperate blog…just not enough time in the day anymore.
